CLUB 27
Club27: An Experimental Editorial on the Lives of Famous Musicians
Club27 is an experimental editorial project inspired by the lives and untimely deaths of three world-famous musicians who all passed away at the age of 27: Amy Winehouse, Kurt Cobain, and Jim Morrison. Each section of the editorial contains 27 pages, built in proportion to the number of years each musician dedicated to music. The unique design elements of each section are inspired by the circumstances of their deaths.

Each section of Club27 has a distinct look and feel, with different paper types, layouts, and fonts. Amy Winehouse's section is soaked in vodka for a week, representing the alcohol poisoning that led to her death. Kurt Cobain's section is shot through with a shotgun, echoing the tragic end to his life. Jim Morrison's section features a heroin-like component created with the help of a pharmacist friend, with each page becoming progressively more illegible as white powder accumulates.
The creation of Club27 was a challenging but rewarding process. The project required a great deal of experimentation with different materials and techniques to achieve the desired effects. Collaboration with the pharmacist friend was crucial to creating the heroin-like component for Jim Morrison's section. The end result is a unique and engaging editorial that immerses the reader in the lives and legacies of each musician.
In addition to the unique design elements, Club27 includes song lyrics, quotes, and biographical information about each musician. Each section tells a different story, exploring the highs and lows of their careers and personal lives.Club27 has received recognition and praise from the design and music communities. It has been featured in several publications and was nominated for a design award. Readers have responded positively to the unique design and immersive storytelling of the editorial.

I plan to continue the Club27 project, exploring the lives and legacies of other musicians who died at the age of 27. The goal is to create a comprehensive collection of experimental editorials that pay tribute to these artists and their contributions to music.
